Novembers Cook Up

Surprisingly, there seemed to be a few more people in attendance at the St James monthly Hot Dinner Wednesday, is that a sign of the financial times?
Dave from the Rat’s Cafe turned up on his Bonneville (a wash wouldn’t go astray Churchy – the bonnie not you) but was good to see you up there. Jay was again in the thick of it, as members go he never stops.
Below are a few pictures that got taken on the night, but before I go don’t forget that Shorty is going to sky dive to raise much needed funds for ‘Christ Mission Possible’ it’s going to be a jump at Picton, you can’t miss it – just look for the parachutes :)

Hot Dinner Wednesday’s Anniversary

To say a good night was had by all would be an understatement. The crowd that attended the 1st anniversary of the ‘Hot Dinner Wednesday’ was immense and those that did attend left happy and well fed. As well as hot food, the clothes van was also in attendance, along with the availability of food parcels. Having the chance to talk to people makes the time that’s put in, all the more worth while.

We would like to send thanks to Alysson and the crew, Christ Mission Possible, Doug from St James’ Anglican church and David Eco, a Christian musician who has offered the services of his Christian band to perform at our upcoming show (details to follow in the next week or so).

The ‘Hot Dinner Wednesdays’ could always do with some assistance, as could other venues that the ‘Hot Dinner Wednesdays’ are held at, so if you’re interested in helping out, drop us an email or give us a call, the venues are as follows with all times at 7pm.
1st Wednesday – St James Anglican Church, Halinda St Whalan.
2nd Wednesday – Moreton Bay Sq Park, Bunya Rd Bidwill.
3rd Wednesday – Willmot Neighbourhood Church, Carteret Ave Willmot.
4th Wednesday – Tregear Presbyterian Church, Ellsworth Dr Tregear.

Hot Dinner Wednesdays

Although the wind was howling, the turn out for the Hot Dinner Wednesday at St James Anglican was a good one. It pleases us no end to be able to muck in, right from dishing out various food stuffs, handing out two huge boxes of chocolates that shocked me as to how fast they went, but most of all it was great to be able to mingle with those that need a helping hand or even just a chat. There was even a TV setup for those that wanted to watch the state of origin, and plenty of hot coffee to go around as well.

All in all, a good night was had by all.
