Something for the UMC and the various state governments.

I only ask of the government to be treated as all other men are treated.

Now Queensland is at it.

Article from the Courier Mail

November 01, 2008 11:30pm

QUEENSLAND bikies have called a truce to discuss action over the State Government’s plan to strip them of their prized club colours and insignias.

The Government is looking at a bold move adopted by US authorities, who have sought a court injunction under forfeiture laws to seize the trademark on the name of the Mongols bikie gang.  If successful, US police would have the power to demand Mongol members remove their club patch or “colours”, which bear the gang insignia – the most prized possession in the bikie culture.

Several Australian-based bikie gangs, including the Hells Angels, have a trademark over their name. Police Minister Judy Spence said she would ask the state’s police bikie Task Force Hydra to consider the move. It comes as the State Government is looking at introducing tough laws against outlaw motorcycle gangs that have been implemented in South Australia and Western Australia, where it is illegal for gang members to associate.

The Australian Crime Commission has deemed bikie gangs to be a significant criminal threat nationwide. The Sunday Mail also can reveal that 10 of the 14 resident bikie gangs in Queensland called a truce to meet at a secret location on Brisbane’s southside to discuss the proposed anti-bikie laws. Gangs sent two to three representatives to a suburban Brisbane coffee shop two weeks ago to the meeting organised by the Hells Angels.

Members attended unarmed, not wearing club colours, and were not allowed to bring mobile phones. They told The Sunday Mail that if the Government moved to ban the wearing of colours or introduced laws similar to SA or WA, the gangs would take legal action.

“If there are no colours, how dangerous do you think that will be for police and the public, not being to able identify us?” he said.  “No colours will break down barriers between us and we will work together. That means there will be more drug deals and more murders,” another bikie warned.

SA Premier Mike Rann has called for other states and territories to adopt the groundbreaking laws to prevent outlaw gang members fleeing to other states. Under the legislation, the SA Attorney-General can declare a criminal bikie gang an outlaw organisation and confiscate their assets, including their motorcycles.
This week the Parliamentary Joint Committee on the Australian Crime Commission will hold hearings in Brisbane for their inquiry into legislative arrangements to outlaw serious and organised crime groups.

And if the outlaw clubs do decide on legal action, it is in our (CMC’s and the general biking populace) interest to support them in their efforts to stop laws that see an individual’s rights removed just because he chooses to live his life (legally) the way he wants, not the way the government wants him/them to.

It’s not only bikies, it’s car club’s, football supporters, religious organisations – don’t laugh, the time will come when a car club for example begins to get a touch rowdy and everyone wearing a patch/badge indicating membership of said car club will find themselves up before a judge. Just remember “not everyone is a criminal, and just because you wear a patch does not a criminal make.”

Police State?

This is madness.

If an “outlaw bikie” comes to me and asks me about Jesus then I shall tell him. If I talk to him on more than six occasions then I can expect to be gaoled and if that’s the case, then so be it.
No government shall stop me if I choose to share the word of the Lord with whom ever I choose, whether they be Joe Average or a 1%’er. Mr & Mr’s Joe Average biker don’t go to the gaol’s, Mr & Mr’s Joe Average don’t attend 1%’er meetings or offer up their services when a 1%’er is injured or killed on the roads, roads that the governments are supposed to be maintaining – what a farce that is.

If the general populace took the time to talk to 1%’er’s they’d see that not all are the “crazed drug dealing killers” as the media is apt to portray them. Yes there is a minor criminal element but in saying that, there is a minor criminal element in football supporters, car enthusiast’s, in fact pretty much any organisation that gathers for a common interest.

As I’ve already stated, I shall not stop talking to 1%’er’s just because the government tell’s me to – I have chosen to spread the word of our Lord in the way “I” feel comfortable, as a leather-clad, patch wearing biker.

God Bless

Minor Patch Change

As of 20th April 2008 we have instructed all members to remove the 1God diamond, replacing it with 1God in a rectangular block the same size as the CMC block.

Why did we opt for the change? In short, the diamond shape has been associated with 1%’ers for many years and although we haven’t been approached by any 1%er club’s to remove it, the overall design issue was raised at our last committee meeting and it was decided the change was needed. Essentially this act is a mark of respect for the 1%er clubs and what they stand for – using the 1God diamond was never in any way a mark of disrespect, it was more a styling decision at the time.

We know many “Outlaw Motorcyle Club” members, and if you know anything about us as a club and individuals you will know that a number of our members are ex 1%er’s themselves.

The updated 1God piece is available for download by members from the link you have. The website will updated over the next few days to reflect the new patch.

Historic Patch Changes

After ten years and some quiet times, changes to the club heirarchy and the ejection of a member (cya PeeDee, hope you can finally get your head together) the decision was made to bring the patch in to the 21st century or away from the masses of other clubs that were using the same font stylings.

The actual vote was a close one, with only two members more on the aye side. So, below is the modified patch, showing the font and minor colour (that was a real sticking point) changes and the replacement of ‘In God We Trust’ with Luke 14:23

All members have been granted a period of three months to acquire the replacement patch with all old patches to either be framed and wall mounted or burnt. At no stage must an old patch be hidden way or given away.

The colours are as you see them - unfortunately, computers never do a picture justice.
